Here are a few steps you can go through that may help with connection issues, updating your computer, and getting it running smoothly. This is not a one-step fix and more like steps you should do frequently.

Computer Updating

  • Go to the search bar next to the windows icon
  • Search the phrase "Check for updates"

  • It may look like this and not show an update, but manually press 'Check for Updates' anyways.

  • Once it is done updating and installing everything it will ask for a restart. After it is done restarting check one more time to make sure no more updates need to go through.

Running CCleaner

You can run CCleaner to resolve a lot of your issues but make sure you save all information on any web pages that you need to keep as it will close all tabs of every web browser.

  • Open CCleaner
  • Select the 'Custom Clean' option
  • Press run Cleaner in the bottom right corner of the screen

  • Next, you can clean up your registry but selecting the 'Registry tab'
  • Select 'Scan for issues'
  • Once it is done scanning press fix selected issues
    • It'll ask if you want to back up the registry before continuing and you can if you want as there is always an inherent risk when fixing your registry. (It will cause no complications the majority of the time but there is always a slight risk and backing up your registry will minimize the risk)
    • Last click on fix all selected issues.

Let's also check to make sure your chrome is up to date!

  • Click on the 3 dots next to the Slingshot Icon
  • Hover over help and then press 'About Google Chrome'
  • It should autostart updating or it will let you know that it is currently up to date

Alternative Issues

If your personal user says Signed In that means there are programs running on your personal user still. The idea is that if you go back to your personal user it'll pull up the programs you had opened before so you can continue where you left off, but that requires those programs to run the background while you're in the Slingshot User so it'll greatly improve performance if you sign out of your personal user which will close any background programs and processes on that user.

If you're currently logged into the slingshot user follow these directions.

  • Click on the Start button on the bottom corner and click on the icon above the file icon
  • If your personal user says Signed In then you need to log into your personal user and Sign out

Hardware Fixes

Unfortunately, we can't fix hardware issues as there are no warranties or guarantees around our work. So if you believe that it is a hardware issue with your computer we have to recommend you take it to some kind of repair shop.

This does include computers we sold previously as there are custom built and there are no guarantees or warranties on the parts we used.

If you have had the computer awhile or have noticed a lot of dust build-up I would recommend a computer duster to clear it out as sometimes that can help resolve a lot of computer issues.

Be careful when using it as you don't want to accidentally dislodge any computer components so make sure you follow the instructions or warnings displayed on the bottle.

If you didn't find a fix here

If the issue is centered around Five 9 you can also try uninstalling and reinstalling your softphone to try to clear it up. Here is the article to help you with that.

If your issues are more centered around connection issues with your web browser or online programs rather than your entire computer feeling sluggish try checking out this article.

internet and ip issues

Just know any third-party programs have inherent risks when running them so be careful to back up info that you can.
